David Chang is bringing his cult-favorite fried chicken sandwiches to West Palm Beach.
Fuku, the fast-growing chicken concept that started as a secret off-menu item at Chang’s Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City, is planning a new restaurant at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach. The restaurant is expected to open in summer 2026 at 407 S. Rosemary Ave.
The announcement comes just weeks after Fuku opened its first standalone Florida location in Coral Gables, signaling a major South Florida expansion for the brand.
“South Florida has been an exciting market for us,” CEO Claudia Lezcano said in a statement. “West Palm Beach allows us to continue that momentum in a way that feels intentional to the community.”
Originally created as a late-night meal for kitchen staff at Momofuku, Fuku’s spicy fried chicken sandwich quickly developed a cult following. Chang launched the first dedicated Fuku restaurant in New York in 2015, and the brand has since expanded into stadiums, arenas, and standalone restaurants across the country — including locations at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The West Palm Beach restaurant will bring Fuku’s signature crispy chicken sandos, waffle fries, tenders, and popular sides like spicy cucumber salad and chicken garlic rice to Palm Beach County.
The restaurant’s best-known item is its fried chicken sandwich served on a butter-toasted potato roll with pickles and Fuku mayo. Guests can order the sandwich mild, spicy, or with an Impossible filet.
According to the company, the West Palm Beach location will feature a slightly elevated design and experience tailored to the downtown market.
Fuku joins a growing wave of nationally recognized restaurant brands expanding into West Palm Beach as the city continues to emerge as one of South Florida’s hottest dining destinations.
