One of Palm Beach’s most recognizable boutique hotels is back — with a new owner, a restored name and a global luxury brand behind it.
The Vineta Hotel has reopened as the first U.S. property for Oetker Hotels, bringing its high-end “Masterpiece Collection” to the island. The move places Palm Beach alongside destinations such as Paris and the French Riviera in Oetker’s carefully curated portfolio.
Originally built in 1926 as the Lido-Venice, the hotel was renamed The Vineta in 1928 and operated under that name for decades before becoming The Chesterfield in 1989. In 2022, British investors David Reuben and Simon Reuben purchased the landmarked property for $42 million, closing it shortly after for a top-to-bottom renovation and restoring its original name.
The Mediterranean Revival building — just steps from Worth Avenue and the beach — underwent a meticulous architectural refresh led by Spina O’Rourke + Partners. Inside, Paris-based designer Tino Zervudachi introduced soft coastal tones, custom furnishings and brighter, more open spaces. The hotel now features 41 guest rooms and suites, reduced in number to create a more spacious, residential feel.
Dining is central to the relaunch. Coco’s, the hotel’s signature restaurant, offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu influenced by Oetker’s European roots while highlighting Palm Beach flavors. The experience flows from an elegant indoor dining room to a courtyard framed by palms, along with a bar and lounge designed as an intimate gathering spot.
Poolside dining and relaxed indoor-outdoor spaces round out the property’s lifestyle appeal.
Oetker’s portfolio includes icons such as Le Bristol Paris, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and Eden Rock – St Barths. With The Vineta, the brand makes its U.S. debut — and signals that Palm Beach remains firmly on the global luxury map.
